1. Introduction

1.1 Welcome to Appeon PowerBuilder 2019 R3 Japanese

Welcome to Appeon PowerBuilder!

Appeon PowerBuilder is an enterprise development tool that allows you to build data-driven business applications and components. It is one of a suite of Appeon products that together provide the tools to develop client/server, Web, mobile, and distributed applications.

1.2 Components of PowerBuilder

The PowerBuilder 2019 R3 Installer installs the following products/components:

  • PowerBuilder IDE - The development platform for rapidly building distributed, Web, mobile, and client/server applications.
  • PowerBuilder Runtime - Runtime files for client/server applications developed with the PowerBuilder IDE.
  • PowerBuilder Compiler - A standalone tool for compiling PowerBuilder projects using Windows DOS commands.
  • SnapDevelop - A full-featured C# editor for creating/editing C# projects.
    • .NET DataStore with DataWindow Converter - An automated utility to regenerate existing DataWindows (including DataStores) in C# using the .NET DataStore.
    • PowerScript Migrator - An automated migration tool to port existing PowerScript and embedded SQLs to C# Web APIs.
  • SnapObjects - A simple, powerful, ultra-fast ORM for .NET supporting SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle etc. SnapObjects are available on NuGet and can be downloaded as NuGet runtime packages to any .NET IDE such as SnapDevelop or Visual Studio.
  • PowerServer - Provides mobile and Web capabilities for the PowerBuilder applications.

1.3 License Types of PowerBuilder

Different PowerBuilder licenses consist of different products/components and features.

2. System Requirements

Before installing PowerBuilder 2019 R3 Japanese , please ensure that your system meets the requirements below:

For installing PowerBuilder IDE & PowerServer Toolkit

  • Windows 10 or 8.1
  • (Optional) Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 SDK or later (for using the .NET DLL Importer in the PowerBuilder IDE) (will be automatically installed by the setup program)
  • (Optional) SAP SQL Anywhere 17.0, 16.0, or 12.0, or PostgreSQL 12, 11, or 10 (for running the PowerBuilder demos)

For installing PowerServer (PB Edition)

  • (Recommended) Windows Server 2019, 2016, or 2012 R2
    (Optional) Windows 10 or 8.1
  • Microsoft IIS 10, 8.0, or 7.5
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.x
    For more information about the system requirements of PowerServer, check the PowerServer Installation Guide.

For installing SnapDevelop

  • Windows 10 or 8.1
  • Universal C Runtime
    Note: Universal CRT is installed by default on Windows 10. On the other Windows platforms, the SnapDevelop installation program will check if Universal C Runtime is installed; if it is not installed, the installation program will provide instructions for installing the package. See Downloading and Installing UCRT. UCRT must be installed before you can install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 SDK.
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 SDK, Microsoft .NET Core SDK 2.1.500 and 3.1.302, & TypeScript SDK 3.1
    Note: These prerequisites will be automatically installed by the SnapDevelop installation program.

3. Installing PowerBuilder 2019 R3 Japanese

The PowerBuilder 2019 R3 installation package can install the PowerBuilder IDE, PowerBuilder Runtime, PowerBuilder Compiler, SnapDevelop (including .NET DataStore and PowerScript Migrator plug-ins), and PowerServer.

Note that:
1) Before selecting to install PowerServer (PB Edition), please read the PowerServer Readme and PowerServer Settings files carefully first.
2)
If you plan to install PowerBuilder and InfoMaker on the same computer, make sure the PowerBuilder version is identical with the InfoMaker version.

Step 1: Log into the Appeon User Center, and download the PowerBuilder Installer executable from the Downloads page on the Appeon User Center.

The PowerBuilder Installer executable (PowerBuilderInstaller_bootstrapper.exe) is available in your download directory after it is downloaded.

Step 2: Double click PowerBuilderInstaller_bootstrapper.exe to start the PowerBuilder Installer (you must have administrator privileges to run the installer).

Step 3: Select to agree to the license terms and click Continue.

Step 4: Click Install under PowerBuilder 2019 R3.

Step 5: Select PowerBuilder IDE, SnapDevelop, PowerServer (PB Edition), and PowerServer Toolkit from the Programs tab, and then select PowerBuilder Runtime from the Components tab.

Step 6: Click Install to begin the installation.

Step 7: When the installations are completed, click Restart now to reboot the system.

4. Activating PowerBuilder 2019 R3 Japanese

You are required to activate PowerBuilder IDE, SnapDevelop, and PowerServer (PB Edition) first before using it. If you do not have a valid account, please contact your license administrator to create an account for you. And depending on whether the machine where the product is installed has Internet access or not, the account should be assigned with an online license or offline license by your license administrator.

Follow the "Activating PowerBuilder" section in the Appeon License User Guide to activate PowerBuilder IDE; follow the "Activating SnapDevelop" section to activate SnapDevelop; follow the "Activating PowerServer" section to activate PowerServer (PB Edition).

5. Uninstalling PowerBuilder 2019 R3 Japanese

5.1 Uninstalling PowerBuilder

Before you uninstall PowerBuilder, make sure you have logged out PowerBuilder if using an online license, or have deactivated the offline license. For how to log out PowerBuilder or deactivate an offline license, refer to Logging out or De-activating an offline license in the Appeon License User Guide.

Launch Uninstall a program in the Windows Control Panel. Select PowerBuilder IDE 2019 R3 Japanese and click the Uninstall button to begin the uninstall process.

5.2 Uninstalling PowerServer

Follow instructions in Deactivating an online license and Deactivating an offline license in the Appeon License User Guide to de-activate PowerServer (PB Edition) and then take the same steps as above to uninstall PowerServer (PB Edition) , PowerServer Toolkit, and PowerServer Help.

5.3 Uninstalling SnapDevelop

Launch Uninstall a program in the Windows Control Panel. Select SnapDevelop 2019 R3 (PowerBuilder) and click the Uninstall button to begin the uninstall process.
