Appeon Test Case

Hi Joselito,

I tested with Decimal(8,4) and Numeric(8,4) but still can’t reproduce the issue.
See attached my test case and table syntax.
Please provide us a reproducible test case. You can upload it to our support ticket system.

BTW, please don’t reply directly to this support email address. Please reply in the support ticket system so we can better track and handle this issue.

Regards,
Ken

Hi Joselito,

Based on the provided(from email), I tested it on our side but I still cannot reproduce it. Even if the Primary key Datatype is numeric(7,0), retrieval and update of DW work well after it is deployed into a 64-bit app. So we are hoping that you could provide us a complete test case (including PBLs and the table syntax) that can reproduce the issue so we can speed up to resolve it.

Regards,
Ken

Hi Joselito:

Please try updating to PowerBuilder 2017 R2 (build 1756) or PowerBuilder 2017 (build 1681). Test again and do let us know if this fixed your error.

You may find more info on the datatypes here: https://www.appeon.com/support/documents/appeon_online_help/pb2017r2/powerscript_reference/ch02s01.html

From Joselito:

1.- What version/build of PowerBuilder are you using? Appeon PowerBuilder Universal Edition Version 2017 Build 1666
2.- What connectivity mechanism are you using? DBMS=ASE Sybase System 16
3.- Datatype from the table columns you are using? Supplier id field set to Numeric(7,0)
4.- Datawindow column datatypes matching the table columns? decimal(0)
    a. I changed to numeric then I ran PB enter supplier name and it works Supplier id saved
    b. I compile with Pcode 64 bit Platform deploy in program files and test, I enter supplier name then save still error out but supplier id and supplier name is saved in the database.
    c. I compile with Pcode 32 bit Platform deploy in program files and test, I enter supplier name then save and no error.

This problem is usually caused by datatype mismatch. And there are datatypes
specific for 64 bits. So what is the datatype for 64 bit?

3.- Datatype from the table columns you are using?
4.- Datawindow column datatypes matching the table columns?
