Hi Rajneesh;

  Normally, SNC is super fast and out performs ODBC. Its hard to know why from your general description of the problem. Can you tell us ...

1) Your ODBC vs SNC Transaction Object settings?
2) Do all PB developers experience this issue?
3) Are you running the SNC vs ODBC tests from the *same* PC and against the same SS instance?
4) What version & build of SS are you using?
5) Have you set the "Provider" setting to match your SS version?
6) Is your SNC DB Client the same version as the SQL Server's?
7) Did you set the "packet Size" in your SNC connection?
8) For certain DWO's that retrieve slowley, did you run an SQL Trace?
   is:  SQLCA.DBMS = "TRACE SNC"
        SQLCA.DBMS = "TRACE ODB"
   If so, please attach the two traces to this ticket.
9) Have you checked the SS logs for any performance errors?
10) In the PB IDE's Painter, if you execute SQL from there and request an "Explain Plan" ... does that show something different when using SNC vs ODBC
11) Have you reset Table Statistics in SS?
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/relational-databases/statistics/update-statistics?view=sql-server-ver15

Hi Experts,

I have experienced slowness issue with SNC when retrieving DW.

We have tried retrieving a datawindow from IDE and it took around 25 seconds when connection made via SNC. While with ODBC connection, it took only 5-6 seconds. Why is this slow with SNC? Are we missing something in the connection string?

Any suggestion. Please let me know if you have any question.

TIA.
