Installing required softwares

The first step in the Web migration process is to set up the software environment.

Appeon for PowerBuilder works in a standard n-Tier Web architecture

The following softwares should be installed to support the architecture:

  • Windows Server 2008 SP2, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, or Windows 8/8.1

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0 or above, Google Chrome, Mozilla FireFox, or Opera

  • SAP PowerBuilder

  • Database that your application uses

  • Application Server (any of the following types):

    • SAP EAServer

    • Microsoft .NET Framework & Microsoft IIS

    • Oracle WebLogic

    • IBM WebSphere

    • TmaxSoft JEUS

    • JBoss

  • Appeon for PowerBuilder, which includes:

    • Appeon Server (Which includes Appeon Enterprise Manager, Appeon Server Status Monitor, and Appeon Server Web Component)

    • Appeon Developer (Windows only)

    • Appeon Server Web Component

    • Appeon Help (Windows only)

    • SAP EAServer (Only provided in Appeon for EAServer editions)
