Hi Andi,

No customers have reported similar issues so far. And yes, we did test the Sales CRM demo previously and have now double-checked clicking on “Product”. On our side, it takes 1 second in PB and about 3 seconds for the first time in PowerServer.

Please provide the information below so that we can further analyze to find out the cause. Thanks!
1 Do you have this issue with PB application or PowerServer application?
2 Did you test with salesdemo_restful or salesdemo?

As I mentioned before, if the PowerServer application has the issue, then it might be caused by that the connection pooling is disabled. In this case, please go to ODBC data source(64-bit) -> Connection Pooling to enable the connection pooling setting in the ODBC driver which PB demo DB is using, and please close and run PowerServer web APIs again after ODBC setting changes. Please refer to the article below for more details:

If this still doesn't help, let's schedule a remote session to debug it. We would recommend you to make the remote session during our working time which is 9:00 ~ 17:00 (we are in UTC+8 ) thus we can get immediate help from the other team if necessary. Regarding the tool to make the remote session, we usually use GTM or TeamViewer, and TeamViewer is preferred because its response is quicker than GTM during the session, but we can use the other tools that you think is better. Anyway, please let us know when you can make the session and which tool you'd like to use for this session.

I am surprised you are not having performance issues. Have you tried the demo app from Appeon (Sales CRM demo) and clicked on "Product"? That was fast?

Thanks for reporting the issue. We have not found any significant performance issues with PB 2021. Please provide the information below for more study, thanks.
1. The CPU & memory information on the machine.
2. Is it only the running performance of the application poor?
3. Were you running the application in PB IDE or running the application exe?
4. Does the PowerServer application has the performance issue?

If the PowerServer application has the issue too, it might be caused by that the connection pooling is disabled, in this case, every request will start & close database thus causing a performance issue. Please go to ODBC data source(64-bit) -> Connection Pooling to enable the connection pooling setting in the ODBC driver which PB demo DB is using, please close and run PowerServer web APIs again after ODDC setting changed. We are currently testing Powerbuilder 2021 Beta. Basically, a lot of things are already working. But the speed is very, very slow. The demo from Appeon (Sales CRM demo) is also slow. For example when I click on "Product" it takes 45 seconds. That is 45 times too long.

My question: are you aware of that? And if yes, are you going to do something about it?
