Hi Prasanth,

Just to make sure, do you mean your application was deployed to the same machine and if you connect to it via RDT, the crash issue won't happen, but if you connect to this Citrix machine using IE or XenApp then you can reproduce this intermittently crash issue?

1. Please check if the properties of related PB exe and dll on the problem client machine are blocked? If so, please unlock them and then try again.

2. It’s recommended that you copy the whole runtime directory (default path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon\Shared\PowerBuilder) to the client machine and then copy your PB exe and related files to this directory. After that, run exe and see if the crash issue still happens.

3. Could you please further locate which line of code is causing the crash via gradually commenting out a part of code?

4. Please make sure that your PB run-time build exactly matches the PB build of the deployed run-time. A mismatch here can easily produce an unstable App execution in any PB version / PB App.

BTW, since this issue is difficult to reproduce, it is suggested you provide a machine that can reproduce the issue and with the remote tool installed (e.g., TeamViewer) for us so that we could remotely debug it.

Hi Mark

Unfortunately, not able to replicate while logging in via RDT. While accessing via citrix this app crash is happening and we have many users logging in via citrix and facing this issue.
PBVM190.dll is not set ready only. Provided all permissions as well. Its 32 bit version only which we have used in our application.
Running in administrator mode didn't helped us as well.

Thanks
Prasanth

Hi 1Prasanth,

Thanks for your reporting this problem and providing the Dump file.

Currently In the Dump file it shows that In tbs__PID__268__Date__09_30_2020__Time_04_53_07PM__552__Second_Chance_Exception_C0000005.dmp the assembly instruction at PBVM190!ot_get_field_item_lv+6 in C:\mss63_local\PBVM190.DLL from Appeon has caused an access violation exception (0xC0000005) when trying to read from memory location 0x00000000 on thread 0

So I suggest you verify it:
1. Make sure that the file PBVM190.dll isn’t set as read-only.
2. Did you encounter the same issue on other machines?
3. Disable the anti-virus software and the windows firewall and try it again.
4. Please open PB IDE with run as administrator and try it again.
5. Kindly can you please provide a sample test case (with PBT/PBL) for us to reproduce it?

Regards,
Mark Lee
