Thanks for sharing this information! I will pass this information to our development to analyze if they find the root cause of the issue and improve the design to address this issue.

Hi Simone,

If you can always reproduce the issue on your side and you are available for
a debug session, I will check if we can have a remote debugging session
using the Visual Studio remote debugging tool:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/debugger/remote-debugging-
cpp?view=vs-2019

Notes: You need to have a public IP on your machine or you need to provide
us a VPN account so we can connect to your internal network.

Regards,

Tom Jiang
Don't know if this could help to find what's causing this issue but as another user suggested on the community, git commit working good and never crashes if i launch it with all closed tree libraries.

Hi Simone;

  Thank for that test PB project. I am not sure if Engineering can replicate this without a corresponding test repository. However, I will now transfer this over to the main Support v/ Engineering team for their review & feedback on your issue.

Hi Simone;

  Thank you for the feedback. Since a small project works OK, would you
still like to leave this ticket open for a while?

Regards ... Chris
hi Chris, it happens even on my small project. Only that it happens less frequently. I'm going to upload this test project to see if you can reproduce this behaviour. the project contains only the pfc libraries and a start.pbl where i've placed a window with some buttons. When i try to modify for example some objects of the pfc libraries (even only the comments) and commit the changes aftet 4 or 5 commits i get the crash... IMHO it's relating about a combination of the tools combo i am using but cannot be sure

Hi Simone,

    Thus far, I cannot reproduce your GIT issue using the same software releases.

If you create a simple test case project, can your reproduce the issue? If you can, please provide Appeon a test repository for us to further analyze.

Many thanks in advance!
Regards ... Chris

*Phenomenon:
i've switched to Git source control and everything working fine except when i try to commit one or more objects of my project. The Commits in fact finish correctly but the PB IDE crashes closing itself (experiencing same behaviour both on PB2017 R3 Build 1915 and PB2019 Build 2170).

*Reproduce Steps:
this is my environment:

Windows 10 Pro 1909 Build 18363.535 (64bit)
PowerBuilder 2019 Build 2170
GitHub (https://github.com)
Git for Windows v.2.24.1.2 as client
GitHub Desktop as visual git client
TortoiseGit v.2.9.0.0 for Logs and Diffs

Git Pull, Push and all the other functions working correctly. The PB ide crashes only after a succesful Git Commit.

Remarks:
this is part of the log but no errors reported. Ide crashes just after the "Git commit success":

Consider that the main project in which i'm experiencing this issue is a quite big one (almost 23.000 objects in total) and using PFC framework.
I've tried to create a new small project to upload here but surprisingly this new one never crashes...
