Hi Jackson,

"Dockable windows become obsolete at the release of PowerBuilder 2019 R2. Obsolete features are no longer eligible for technical support and will no longer be enhanced. Customers who use dockable windows in their applications can choose to continue using the feature without support or migrate to normal floating windows."

Can we proceed to close the ticket?

Hi Jackson,

MDI Dock is a new functionality in SAP PB 12.6 but we found that it still has some bugs and part of its development weren’t completed. If you want to know the existing issues, please refer to the link below:

We still don’t have a plan to improve MDI Dock in Appeon PB 2017 and 2019 so we recommend you not to use MDI Dock. Otherwise, it would be difficult to resolve the issue you might encounter.

Following is the Appeon PB roadmap:

Subject: Re: [Bug 2576] Toolbar in dockable window cause a duplicated window when right mouse click and select other position from the popup menu

Thnaks Ken,

MDI dock is the major reason I am considering to switch to PB 2017 from my existing PB 12.5.

What other issues in the MDI dock?

NB: I am planning to switch to PB 2017 using the MDI dockable type window. Is it stable? Recommended?

Hi Jackson

Thanks for reporting this issue! I will submit this issue to our developer team.

However, for MDIDock, there has been many issues and not perfect functionalities since SAP and currently, we still don’t have a plan to handle these issues uniformly yet. Hence we don’t recommend you using MDIDock for the time being.

When the window (toolbar in sheet) is opened as a docked document.
Right mouse clicking the menu bar and select the toolbar as either left or right, the window duplicated itself in a cascaded style. If you select the Toolbar as float, the whole window disappeared.

*Reproduce Steps:
1. OpenSheetwithParmAsDocument for a window which has a Toolbar in Sheet property set.
2. When the window is opened, right mouse click the Toolbar and select Left from the pop-up menu.

The window itself will replicate and open in a cascade style

How to disable the pop-up menu when right mouse clicking on the toolbar?
