Hi Miguel,

Sorry for replying so late.
Originally we planned to provide you with a separate dll to fix this issue, but later we found that it involves much more than we expected. Sorry again I can’t give you the dll to verify.
At present, this issue has been fixed in PB 2017 R3 MR02. When we release PB 2017 R3 MR02 in the future, you can use the new version to verify. Our company has not yet set the specific release date for PB 2017 R3 MR02. We will update you when it is released.

Regards,
Ken

Hi Ken,
I don't want to be impatient but is there any expected date for the fix?
Ken Guo 21 March, 2019
Hi Miguel,

OK, I will send the DLL file for your verification once our developer fixes this issue and it also passes our internal smoke test.

Ken

That would be great Ken !

Hi Miguel,

Currently we don’t have an expected release date for an MR yet.
However, I can apply a separate dll file which can fix this issue for you from our development team first if you need.

Ken

Ken,
You said that the bug is being fixed. Is there any expected release date for an MR (for powerbuilder 2017 R3) or does it have to wait to PB 2019 GA?

I need that information to make a decision for my workaround.

Okay, so I've tried again. The new control simply hangs my application randomly it seems. (after having connected to Outlook), so that's a no no.
To be honest I'm doing a little side-project in which I'm making my own richtext edit control. It's going to take more time than expected since we have started to do a new project, with pb2017 this time.

Hi Miguel,

I asked the developer team, they are fixing this bug.

Hi Ken,

I like your sense of humour, but the new build in control was no good at all the last time I checked. Are all the reported bugs fixed on that one, than I'll give it another try.
Ken Guo 19 March, 2019
Hi Miguel,

Thanks for reporting this problem! We reproduced it on our end and will do further research to figure it out. We will keep you posted about the progress.

And we’d suggest you use 'Build in Rich Edit Control' in the application object to work it around.

Regards,
Ken

*Phenomenon:
Changed behaviour for the "old" richtext edit control:

I'm having this text, preceded and ended with enters, one before and one after the text.
-------------------------

MY TEXT

-------------------------
When I do:
  rte_1.selectTextAll()
  ls_returnText = rte_1.selectedtext( )

Then ...
In powerbuilder 12.6, the initial enter is not copied and the last one is ... As a matter of fact, all initial enters are stripped out and only the last ending enter is maintained. If ending on more than one enter, only one is copied.

In powerbuilder 2017, the initial enter(s) is (are) copied correctly, but the ending ones are all gone.

So it's not working correctly in either version and the behaviour has been changed.

Nothing we cannot work around, but it would be nice if all enters would be respected.
